Hello and welcome to Johnsphotos, hope you enjoy my photographs.
I am an amateur photographer and get a great deal of enjoyment from it. Photography allows
me to have some medium of creativity and even at the snapshooter level people find themselves
being creative. Cameras are wonderful things - pick one up and you'll start to think.
My first camera was a Polaroid (Super Swinger) which I got when I was about 7 or 8 and
found it amazing that you could take a picture and two minutes later be looking at the
photograph. Since that day I've loved photography.
I started developing and printing my own black and white film about seven years ago.
To see a print emerge from a blank sheet of white paper is sheer magic, something that
everyone interested in photography should see.
Digital cameras are also wonderful; they're like a modern Super Swinger. In a few years
time with the advances in CCD's and printers, traditional darkrooms will be entered only by a few.
